The book consists of 12 chapters each featuring a Christian sportsperson including David Sheppard, Gary Player, Larry Nelson, Stan Smith and a number of British sportspeople such as Brian Adams, Jane Powell, Alan West and Nicky Slater.

The book is significant as some of British athletes included were significant pioneers of the Christian sports movement, Also important is the final chapter which describes the origins of Christians in Sport and three pages on how John Jackson became the first English football chaplain – to Leeds United in the 1960s.
