Gabby Logan, London, Paitkus, 2022. ISBN 9780349433073
The autobiography of the sports broadcaster, Gabby Logan, charts her career as an elite gymnastthrough local radio while at university to working for Sky, ITV and BBC. It is an easy read if perhaps 100 pages too
long. I really did not feel that I needed to know so much about her various boyfriends.
I was interested in the following paragraph about her teenage life. “Church was important. We went every Sunday in Coventry and probably received communion once a week at school. My Catholic God was not the dark, brooding guilt inducing God I have read about and seen in films since, the one many other Catholics experienced at school. The one we worship did not seem so judgmental. He was jolly and colourful on the hymns we sang were more like folk songs... I think church for our family was about community as much as communion”.
There is nothing more about her faith as the story develops.
